BBC a întocmit topul celor mai bune melodii din 2019, prima poziţie fiind ocupată de noua senzaţie a industriei muzicale Billie Eilish, puştoaica bizară în vârstă de 17 ani.
Ultimul an al deceniului a fost marcat de noi talente, dar şi de reinventări ale artiştilor consacraţi. BBC a realizat un top 20 al celor mai bune cântece lansate în 2019.
Poziţia fruntaşă este ocupată de „bad guy“, de la Billie Eilish, care a luat prin surprindere industria muzicală şi a devenit aproape peste noapte o adevărată senzaţie, câştigând două trofee la gala American Music Awards, alte două la MTV Europe Music Awards şi fiind desemnată de revista Billboard Femeia Anului 2019.
Cu „bad guy“ a reuşit şi performanţa de a detrona piesa care a petrecut cel mai mult timp pe primul loc în Billboard Hot 100 (19 săptămâni) – „Old Town Road“, cântată de Lil Nas X şi Billy Ray Cyrus.
